BTS 19: Easy as 1-2-3

Better tyre maintenance could help prevent a number of tyre problems.

Studies in heavy duty trucking have shown more than 80 per cent of tyre problems are caused by under-inflation and can be eliminated through better tyre maintenance, according to Airtec Corporation managing director David Hewett.

Airtec, a leading manufacturer of digital tyre inflators, has an easy solution to this problem: the TTM Kit (the Truckie’s Tyre Maintenance Kit). It provides a reliable and efficient solution for easy tyre pressure management, saving time and money for fleet owners.

“By replacing regular tyre caps with this new double seal cap (DS-1) tyre pressures can easily be checked without the constant removal of the valve cap, saving at least 10 seconds per tyre,” he says.

The TTM Kit comes with 22 DS-1 flow-through caps, two valve extensions to make inner dual tyre valve accessible for inflating, and a dial gauge pressure tester to have an accurate pressure value.

Each part can be sold in a combined package or individually.

The kit takes three easy steps to get the job done in less time and at a low cost: step one, put a cap on the valve; step two, check your tyre pressures; and step three, inflate with ease.

Having proper inflation procedure in place is essential to ensure safety on the roads.

Correct inflation increases tyre’s durability decreasing vehicle’s rolling resistance and braking distance, leading to less chance of accidents on the road.

The TTM Kit is an affordable way to maintain your tyres with the correct pressure.
