Working trucks to rock on at Penrith

Award-winning country-rock duo McAlister Kemp will headline this year’s Penrith Working Truck Show on March 29

Top Australian country-rock duo McAlister Kemp will head a star-studded line-up of entertainment at this year’s Penrith Working Truck Show, to be held on Sunday, March 29.

Drew McAlister and Troy Kemp have released three studio albums across the past six years, topping the ARIA Country Albums chart and the Country Radio Airplay chart, taking out a Golden Guitar and two CMC Music Awards, and performing to audiences of thousands both in Australia and in the United States.

In a timely move before the Penrith Working Truck Show, McAlister Kemp will release a Best Of compilation through ABC Music in March, featuring previously unreleased songs and new music, including the latest single ‘100 Years The ANZAC’.

The annual Penrith Working Truck show is held at the grounds of the Museum of Fire, located in the old Penrith Power Station. It opened as Australia’s only dedicated Fire Safety Education Centre in 1986.

Each year over 200 of Australia’s finest trucks gather at the Museum of Fire for Australia’s Premier Working Truck Show, with all funds directed towards saving our families from the dangers of fire while preserving the heritage of our community’s bravest.

The unique feature of the Show is that each truck must be a working truck and not just a showpiece or collector’s item. Each truck is entered into one or more of 25 different categories to compete for trophies for the best in each class.

Drivers spend hours cleaning and polishing their prize possession in an attempt at being declared the best truck in their class. The award of a trophy at the Working Truck Show has become an industry icon and prestigious recognition for the owner.

For 27 years the trucking fraternity has cultivated their prize rigs into show condition, in support of charity.

In addition to McAlister Kemp, the show’s Country Music Extravaganza will also feature The Wolfe Brothers, Kaylens Rain, Jared Porter, Christie Lamb and much more.

Up to three children under 16 are admitted at no charge with a paying adult ($30) to the show, with the added attraction of enjoying 12 thrill rides and other amusements, all free.

There will be many food and drink stalls, free face painting and giveaways.
