Record number of inductees for National Road Transport Hall of Fame

Almost three times as many inductees as usual will be recognised at the 2015 event.

The number of poeple to be recognised at the National Road Transport Hall of Fame is set to reach close to 300 this year.

Each year the event inducts a further group of operators and drivers onto its Wall of Fame.

This year’s event, from August 25 to 31, will feature almost 300 inductees, compared with the usual 100.

The National Road Transport Hall of Fame is also celebrating its 20th anniversary.

“In our 20th year, we’re very excited to welcome a record number of inductees into the Hall of Fame, commending their outstanding commitment to road transport in Australia,” National Road Transport Hall of Fame CEO Liz Martin says

Event sponsor Shell Rimula says it is honoured to partner with the Hall of Fame to recognise remarkable Australians working in the transport industry.

“Shell Rimula’s unwavering dedication to the road transport industry’s heritage in Australia is emulated in our commitment to the Wall of Fame,” spokesman Max Lane says.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating the achievements of this year’s inductees, at this special milestone Hall of Fame reunion.”

Meanwhile, the Road Transport Historical Society will celebrate 25 years since its inception.
