Jayne Denham to rock Newcastles Transport Day

Country singer Jayne Denham, who will perform live at this year’s Newcastle Transport Awareness Day, has signed a promotional deal with ScuzzTrans

Country rock star Jayne Denham and her band will perform live at this year’s Newcastle and Hunter Road Transport Awareness Day on November 1.

Denham will be presenting songs from her latest album Renegade, including ‘Grew Up ‘Round Trucks’ and ‘Addicted to the Diesel’, as well as tracks from her previous albums Shake This Town and Sudden Change In Weather.

Denham, a Golden Guitar finalist in 2010, has long had an affinity with the truck industry, notably through a sponsorship arrangement with Wickham Freight Lines.

In addition, Denham recently announced a partnership with fellow Queensland-based transport company ScuzzTrans.

ScuzzTrans are specialists in shipping container transport, and are well known around the truck show scene with its Ned Kelly-themed Western Star known as ‘Ned’. The truck has won numerous trophies at truck shows along the eastern seaboard.

“I was thinking about doing a new truckin’ song release when (Scuzzy) Andrew McSweeney and his wife Helen came to me with an offer to partner together and sponsor me so I could get the wheels back on the road after taking time out,”, Denham says.

As usual, the Newcastle and Hunter Road Transport Awareness Day will kick off with a hot breakfast at Sandgate markets, thanks to O’Neill’s Towing.

The convoy will then descend on picturesque Foreshore Park for a day of entertainment, prize giving and charity auctions.

All proceeds raised from the event will go to the Newcastle & Hunter Valley Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
