Police in Western Australia are pleading for witnesses to come forward after a serious crash involving a truck and a motorcyclist on December 7.

The crash happened just before 3pm near the intersection of Great Northern Highway and Middle Swan Road.

“An Iveco truck and trailer carting bricks had became stationary at the intersection intending to turn left onto Middle Swan Road when the driver felt a bump and heard a dragging noise as he took off,” a police statement says.

“The driver reversed back and noticed a black Hyosung motorcycle lying on top of its rider.”

Police say the 47-year-old rider was taken to hospital suffering abdominal and pelvic injuries.

It is unclear which direction the motorcycle was travelling prior to the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
