Police are urging road users to avoid Sydney’s south-west after a collision between a B-double tanker and two cars today.

The incident happened at Moorebank about 35 minutes from Sydney’s CBD in the westbound lanes of Newbridge Road.

Police say two cars collided with the truck about 11:20am, spilling the tanker’s fuel across the road and blocking two of the three lanes. Eastbound traffic is unaffected.

HAZMAT crews are working to contain spill.

“However, it is expected the road will be closed in both direction when attempts are made to salvage the truck,” a statement from police says.

“Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.”
