A section of Queensland’s Warrego Highway will closed for much of the day following a fatal collision between a car and truck.

The accident happened at 9:15am today near Bowenville, almost three hours west of Brisbane. Police have confirmed one man died at the scene.

“Police have closed the Warrego Highway between Dalby and Bowenville and advise that the road may be closed for a number of hours,” a statement from police says.

“Police are urging people to stay away from the area until it is cleared and for motorists to seek alternative routes if possible.”
