Penske returns to Brisbane Truck Show for 2019

Penske Commercial Vehicles (PCV) announces a return to Australasia’s premier transport event, the Brisbane Truck Show, after choosing not to exhibit in 2017

The decision not to exhibit in 2017 left showgoers wondering, but PCV managing director Kevin Dennis explains the move was about directing maximum focus to customers; a strategy that paid off.

“We looked at what’s happening around the world and we looked at what we want to do with our customers,” Dennis says.

“Our focus over the past two years has been on driving the level of support we have for our customers, the investment we’re putting into our network.

“This has included substantial changes in our dealer network such as appointing Penske Power Systems as a dealer across several locations nationally, as well as adding to our independent dealer network.”

The heavy customer focus has paid off for PCV, with Dennis telling us it’ll be the biggest year ever for MAN in Australia and results are strong across the other brands too.

“Where we are and the investment we’re making in supporting the customer and supporting the brand has really paid dividends for us in the last two years, particularly with MAN.

“As a whole it’s looking like a very good year across all of our business from a financial point of view, from an aftermarket point of view, for Western Star, MAN, and Dennis Eagle.

“It will be the biggest year we’ve ever had for MAN and it’s the first time we’ve been able to put MAN’s into major national fleets. This year we put units into K&S, Cube…Rio, BHP, some really big companies are buying into the MAN brand because of the support Penske offers them,” Dennis says.

The return of Western Star, MAN and Dennis Eagle trucks to the show comes off the back of the recently launched MAN TGX D38 XXL Cab, but Dennis tells us it’s too early to give away details of their exhibit.

“There’s always a few bits and pieces on different models that we want to put out there and some innovation that may come at the show,” he says.

Brisbane Truck Show organisers, the Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA), welcome PCV back to the event.

“We know that our visitors will be delighted to hear that the Penske Group are returning in full force with their iconic brands for the 2019 Brisbane Truck Show,” says HVIA National Manager Communications and Partnerships, Steve Power.

“The event will showcase the very best of Australia’s leading truck, trailer, component, equipment and technology brands all under one roof.

“We are excited about the number of new releases set to be revealed at the 2019 show.”
