Australian operator ACFS Port Logistics has announced it has started operating a Western Sydney rail intermodal hub to meet “growing demand”.
After acquiring St Marys Intermodal Precinct and settling the purchase on June 30, the operator commenced its new 20-year lease commitment at the site on July 1.
The site will see ACFS and Cadence partner to service Western Sydney from the intermodal hub that will provide links to both trucks and trains.

“Bypassing every major toll road and working from the outside in to the industrial zones within 15km of the ACFS intermodal, we have a distinct advantage to maximise efficiency, reduce carbon footprint and deliver best-practice cost solutions,” ACFS Port Logistics says.
ACFS says it will work with Cadence to “immediately embark” on expanding the precinct to meet growing demand.
“As a neutral service provider, ACFS plans to collaborate with shipping lines and transport operators to bring containers closer to their final destinations delivering optimal solutions for importers and exporters across NSW,” ACFS says.
