Adelaide Trucks and Vans announces $2 million fleet expansion

The heavy vehicle operator is adding a range of new truck models and types to its ever-expanding fleet for various sectors

South Australian heavy vehicle operator Adelaide Trucks and Vans (ATV) has revealed a $2 million expansion of its fleet that will see nine new vehicles added to its range.

The new vehicles will boost the operator’s delivery capacity and provide customers with enhanced flexibility, efficiency and service.

Six Fuso Canter 815s have been delivered to ATV, comprising four tautliners and two refrigerated trucks. The latter two trucks will grow ATV’s support of South Australia’s food and beverage industry.

ATV has also bought two 18t Fuso tautliners and two truck-mounted Loadmac forklifts to enhance its services to the building supply industry.

The fleet upgrade sees ATV’s fleet rise to 60 vehicles and allows it to meet the evolving needs of the construction, wine, timber and board, infrastructure and general freight sectors.

ATV managing director Mansii (Money) Bhan says the company will also add a prime mover to its fleet this year.

“Since launching in 2021, ATV has rapidly expanded from just one truck to become the largest supplier of rigid tray tops in South Australia,” Bhan says.

“Our newest investments will significantly increase our capabilities by allowing us to better serve existing customers and capitalise on new opportunities and sectors.”

To match this investment, 10 ATV drivers are now qualified to operate the forklifts, with more drivers set to complete their training in coming months.

Bhan says this investment is a further example of ATV’s dedication to providing leading transport solutions to its customers across multiple sectors.

“In particular, we see huge scope for ATV to introduce our leading transport solutions into regional communities filling a gap left by the closure of many small transport operators,” he says.

“With our new Loadmac capability, we can provide a cost-effective, all-in-one solution for the efficient and safe delivery and distribution of goods and services when and where they are needed.”

With the transport sector facing increasing challenges such as rising costs and ongoing global trade uncertainty, Bhan says customer focus is key.

“We believe it is during these times that we must continue to invest in our customers’ needs to secure our shared long-term success, even when the environment is tough,” he says.

This follows from ATV’s recent announcement that it has invested in driver safety with AI-powered dashcam technology in all of its fleet courtesy of a partnership with Australian GPS tracking and fleet management software provider Linxio.
