ATA technical and training award finalists named for 2025

The ATA has announced the three finalists for each of its two prestigious technical and training awards, to be announced at next month’s TMC

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has announced the finalists for its two technical and training awards this year.

The winners for both the Craig Roseneder Award for technical and maintenance excellence and the national training excellence award will be presented at the ATA’s 2025 Technology and Maintenance Conference.

For the Craig Roseneder Award (sponsored by Castrol), the three finalists are Chris Montgomery from CMV Truck & Bus in Victoria, Scott Gardiner from Australia Post in NSW and Thomas Kenny from NSW’s Multiquip.

When it comes to the national training excellence award, sponsored by bp, Castrol and the NHVR, the three companies named as finalists are Divall’s Earthmoving Bulk Haulage in Goulburn, WA’s Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls Group and Stef’s Transport in South Australia.

“These awards shine a spotlight on the critical role that training and technical excellence play in shaping a safer, smarter and more resilient transport industry,” ATA Chair Mark Parry says.

“They also celebrate the unwavering commitment of the individuals who keep the freight task moving – despite rising demand, economic pressures and workforce challenges.”

The Craig Roseneder Award for Technical and Maintenance Excellence recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the industry and celebrates the men and women who work behind the scenes to keep the industry’s workshops running.

The award is sponsored by Castrol and includes a prize trip to attend the 2026 US Technology and Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition, in Nashville, Tennessee in March 2026. The prize includes full conference registration, return airfares, accommodation and $1,500 spending money.
