Popular Australian truck dealership Brown and Hurley Group is recognising a special milestone in 2026.

This year will see the Brown and Hurley Group mark 80 years in operation of serving its customers, supporting the transport industry and building lasting relationships.

The dealership has been in business in Australia since 1946 and has been a constant family-owned and operated business committed to the nation’s road transport industry.

With more than 600 employees currently, the business’ foundations trace back to 1944 when Alan Brown and Jack Hurley met at Moorebank Training School.

In 1946, the first premises were commissioned at The Risk, Kyogle, with Jack doing repairs while waiting for Alan to return from the Army.

In 1964 they were appointed Kenworth distributors in Queensland and northern NSW, selling their first Kenworth truck in 1965. By 1968, they were the first Volvo truck dealers in Australia, leading to further site expansions.

Trailer sales started in 1992, before relinquishing the Volvo partnership in 1998. Two years later the group added DAF trucks to its operations, appointed as dealers on February 28, 2000.

As part of the 80 year celebrations, The Brown and Hurley Group has unveiled an updated logo for the year.

“Our refreshed logo honours our history while looking forward to the future,” the group says.

“Thank you to our customers, partners and team, past and present, for being part of this journey. Here’s to the road ahead.”
