Matic Transport recently enhanced its expanding fleet by incorporating the largest Volvo truck produced at its Wacol assembly line.
Transport service solutions specialist Matic Transport has looked to update its modern fleet of more than 200 trucks with new Volvo prime movers.
Matic’s order of the new Volvo FH16 XXL 700HP twin steer tri-drive prime movers is the largest Volvo XXL to roll off its Wacol assembly line to date.
Matic Transport operates a modern fleet of 200-plus trucks of predominantly Volvo prime movers along with more than 750 pieces of trailing equipment.
“It was a proud moment for Matic Transport founders Danny and Katia to receive the keys for the first Wacol built FH16 XXL cab, twin steer tri- drive,” Volvo Group Australia Regional Commercial Manager Anthony Raisch says.
“It was also great timing, as this truck marks Matic Transport’s 20th anniversary this year!”
The new Volvo FH16 10×6 prime mover has a GCM of more than 200t and will be transporting cement in pressurised tankers based out of Geraldton to remote mining sites around Western Australia.
General manager of Volvo Sales at Truck Centre WA Kevin Kelly says the truck signifies 20 years of dedication that Danny Matic has devoted to Matic Transport, of which Truck Centre WA has partnered with Matic since its inception.
“Danny can be described as a man who has a genuine respect for all and has always had a dogmatic approach to find better ways to service his customers, which in turn has allowed Matic Transport to be at the forefront of providing innovative transport solutions,” Kelly says.
Matic says it is the team spirit and the dedication from his people that drives him to do the work he does.
Truck Centre WA sales representative Ken Dowsen says Matic was looking for a truck that had high GCM, high horsepower and a big cab for driver comfort, but it had to be safe for his driver Tony Watson.
