Bridgestone and NatRoad reveal e–learning program

Operators are being encouraged to undertake the program to move their fleets towards net zero

Transport association NatRoad and global manufacturer Bridgestone are coming together to provide a new e-learning program for transport operators.

Dubbed the ‘Road to Decarbonisation’ program, it was unveiled at NatRoad’s annual conference in Queensland last week.

It aims to help operators manage their business as the industry continues its transition into net zero emissions operation.

Developed by specialist consultancy 100% Renewables, the program will help to demystify carbon emission technology, giving businesses and operators all the knowledge they need to work with customers and suppliers on the path to net zero.

NatRoad CEO Warren Clark says that preparation for the future has already begun, and this program will look to accelerate it.

“With growing pressure on supply chains to offer lower-carbon services, we have worked with Bridgestone and 100% Renewables to develop this important initiative,” Clark says.

“It will not only help people understand emission types but provide them with basic tools to calculate contributions.”

The program will become available to all NatRoad members free of charge in October.

Bridgestone ANZ head of sustainability Jo Hayes says that Bridgestone has been working closely on its own net zero goals, in line with the new program.

“To achieve Bridgestone’s own sustainability goals, we are reliant on our entire value chain, particularly our road transport providers,” she says.

“And with many operators also being our customers through tyre usage, we have a responsibility to contribute positively to their sustainability targets.

“With Scope 3 emissions impacting value chains, decarbonisation cannot be achieved alone. We want to support operators to better understand this and encourage them to consider how they can plan for change through the knowledge they gain from this program.

“We’re thrilled to be able to extend this to the wider industry through our partnership with NatRoad.”
