Winners of the 2017 Brisbane Truck Show Awards were announced at a special event on the first evening of the show at the ongoing Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The winners are:

Best heavy duty truck: New Mercedes-Benz Actros - Mercedes-Benz Trucks

Best light or medium duty truck sponsored by Truck Assist: All New 500 Series Wide Cab - Hino Motor Sales Australia

Best trailer: Freighter T-Liner Mark II with load restraint gates - MaxiTrans 

Best body innovation: Multi positional hanging truck body dividing doors - Truck Corp 

Best Component, Equipment or Service Innovation: Freighter Hanging Load Restraint Gates - MaxiTrans

Best Technology innovation: X15 with ADEPT - Cummins/Eaton

Best Australian designed and engineered product – all classes (sponsored by Castrol Vecton): Freighter T-Liner Mark II Curtain system - MaxiTrans 

Best Australian manufactured innovation – all classes (sponsored by BP Australia): Freighter T-Liner Mark II Curtain system - MaxiTrans 

The Awards are a new addition to this year's Truck Show, with over 100 nominations coming through in all categories.

The Awards celebrate the innovative heavy vehicle industry by showcasing the best design, engineering and manufacturing achievements from the past two years.

The awards have been assessed against a set of criteria including:

  • Technical innovation and/or features
  • Safety as a prime consideration
  • Innovative safety features
  • Service/maintenance support
  • Information availability 
  • Distribution Network
  • Delivery time
  • Stock held in Australia
  • Value for money.

The judges said the quality of the product and service innovations has made their job incredibly difficult, with an enormous number of great new products being released over the last two years.
