Bruce Highway bridge reopens after overnight closure

The rehabilitation works just north of Ingham have now finished, allowing heavy vehicles to once again travel along the Bruce in the region

The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has advised that rehabilitation works have been completed on a crucial bridge on the Bruce Highway, with overnight closures now lifted.

On Monday November 25, the John Row Bridge was fully closed all night, with the Bruce Highway shut just three kilometres north of Ingham for the works.

A detour was in place for those travelling to or from Ingham via Halifax Road through Halifax, with the detour not suitable for heavy vehicles.

Heavy vehicles had no way through at the time, with operators not permitted to cross the bridge during the closure period.

TMR advises that the bridge is now open, with heavy vehicles once again able to travel through Ingham along the Bruce Highway.
