BTS: PACCAR unveils new DAF and Kenworth models

New diesel and electric models on the DAF side, as well as four new Kenworth models, dazzled plenty on the opening day of the Brisbane Truck Show

PACCAR Australia’s massive stand at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show is highlighting two of the brand’s newest additions.

Attendees at the show yesterday were able to check out state-of-the-art engineering courtesy of new DAF and Kenworth models.

The new Australian made DAF XG 15L 660hp was on display after first establishing itself during its release late last year.

The DAF XB electric, a new display of PACCAR’s zero-emissions technology, was also on the stand, with several new additions to the Kenworth range also featured.

The T320, T420SAR, T620 and T620SAR all garnered plenty of attention.

“It is great to be in Brisbane again and be part of this important industry event. We enjoy being able to connect with so many of our customers in the one location and bringing the latest PACCAR has to offer from across its truck brands and support services,” PACCAR Australia director of sales and marketing Michael Long says.

Since its introduction in October 2024, the DAF XG range has built on the European success of the New Generation DAF range. Exclusively produced in Melbourne, the Australian XG range has already quickly established itself as superior for high-productivity combinations.

The new XG & XG+ have the power and capability to be an asset to any business with Meritor axles and Airglide suspension, 97 tonne GCM and 3200Nm of torque, wrapped up in a huge 660hp 15 litre engine that is even lighter in weight and incredibly fuel efficient. The 1150 litre fuel tanks mean customers should comfortably run Melbourne to Brisbane at B-double weights without refuelling.

PACCAR Australia has redeveloped the European drivetrain to meet the rigours and realities of the challenging Australian freight task, with every detail optimised for efficiency, durability, driveability and ease of manoeuvring.

With almost seven million kilometres of local validation, with operators across the country and the engineering team working in partnership with PACCAR centres of excellence around the world, customers can be confident this powerful and efficient long-haul solution is ready for Australia.

Alongside the current CF450 and CF530 models, DAF also presents its ‘zero emission’ DAF XB Electric.

The DAF XB Electric, currently in Australia for evaluation, encompasses the best-in-class driver comfort, drivability, efficiency and safety features. The 19-tonne rated DAF XB Electric is perfectly suited for sustainable inner-city and regional distribution due to the spacious yet compact cab design and the unique manoeuvrability and small turning circle.

This year at Brisbane Truck Show and nine years after the release of the revolutionary T610, Kenworth is showing its new generation wide cab models, designed to put the future to work. With new nomenclature to align the model numbers and signify the evolution, the T320, T420, T620, and T620SAR are on display.

With emission standards for heavy vehicles being phased in through ADR 80/04 in November, Kenworth took the opportunity to continue its long history of evolving its model line-up. By engaging closely with customers and operators, Kenworth’s design and engineering teams have developed enhanced new models that retain the best attributes of the existing range and readied the trucks for the future.

“Kenworth engineers spent countless hours with customers, gathering their insights. The feedback was clear: the existing models were excellent, but there was room for improvement. Those implemented enhancements and refinements have culminated in the new generation series,” Long says.
