A recent video by Whiteline Television received a huge response from both the trucking community and caravaners alike. Rod Hannifey writes
At Mudgee I had a crowd of more than 80 people. No one made them attend; they all came because they wanted to hear our side. This was the first public showing of the sharing rest areas video and this was aimed to get the views and approval of some vanners before wider general release.
Like all things, thinking it will be a success is no guarantee. Vanners and motor homers are the target market and if they do not recognise and accept the message, then you have missed the target.
The video was applauded at the end and all said it was well done and valuable. I was thanked by many after the event and also by the organisers for making the effort to attend in my time off. I arrived home after 8pm.
I wrote my on blog, detailing the trip down and the event and included the video. The Owner//Driver website received an excellent response. It seems more van people than truckies shared and liked it.
Thank you to all who have shared the video with other sites. On my Facebook page one fellow had an issue with sharing truck rest areas at all and I replied and explained we do not have enough now and to get better facilities for all, us included, the authorities will not build trucks bays and then also car bays. We have to both do more with what we have, but also need to pressure them to supply more capacity.
Check out the video below.
