The South Australian Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has announced a culvert replacement project on the Horrocks Highway will improve safety and freight efficiency for operators.
The new project is funded in an 80:20 split between the federal and South Australian governments.
From Thursday February 6, works will begin from 7am until 5pm, with the project expected to wrap up in early March, weather permitting.
The works will occur on the highway approximately two kilometres north of Rhynie, starting with an upgrade of the existing culvert on the Horrocks Highway.

These works are set to improve flood resilience, safety and heavy vehicle capacity along the important freight corridor, with a temporary access track to be built adjacent to the highway.
While the early works are undertaken, the highway will remain open to two-way traffic, with safe lane and speed restrictions in place.
Following the completion of the initial works in March, the highway will be reduced to a single lane while major works begin, with traffic to be diverted via the temporary access track.
