DB Schenker opens new western Sydney facility

The new Sydney warehouse is more than 17,000 sqm in size and focuses on sustainability for both its operations and workers

Global logistics company DB Schenker has officially unveiled its latest facility, based in Sydney’s west.

The provider’s growing presence across Australia and New Zealand has continued to expand, with the site coming alongside recent initiatives to strengthen sustainability ambitions.

The new Sydney warehouse is more than 17,000 sqm in size and has been built to a five-star Green Star rating to meet sustainability requirements.

The site features solar panels and water heating, as well as rainwater collection and reuse.

It also has EV charging stations, bike parking and car share spaces to encourage lower emissions commuting for workers.

“The opening of this new site shows our dedication to serving the region by providing the right space and operational facilities in much needed locations for our customers, teams and the community,” DB Schenker Australia and New Zealand cluster CEO Craig Davison says.

“This new facility represents a milestone in our efforts to enhance our logistics capabilities and the custom fit out allows us to better serve our customers in the Hi-Tech Electronic segment with improved efficiency and reliability.”
