Strong attendance for Brisbane Truck Show

Attendance at the 2011 Brisbane Truck Show exceeds expectations, even with Mothers Day slightly hampering numbers

May 12, 2011

The 2011 Brisbane Truck Show has exceeded attendance expectations, even with Mothers Day slightly hampering numbers on the final day of the show.

The event, which brought together manufacturers and suppliers distributing their latest wares, was held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Show organisers the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) says attendance over the four days from May 5 to 8 was 34,773.

The CVIAQ says adult paying visitors and pre-sold VIP tickets holders were in line with 2009 numbers.

CVIAQ CEO Brett Wright says attendance on Mother’s Day (May 8) was less than compared to 2009, but adds that future shows will be held the week after Mothers Day.

There were more than 250 displays at the show, exhibiting the latest heavy vehicles, components and transport equipment.

Trader Business Media’s market-leading titles – Australasian Transport News (ATN), Owner//Driver and Deals on Wheels – were official media partners for the event and played the lead role in promoting the show by producing the official show guide, the official show program and the official show bags.

The CVIAQ says exhibitors and visitors described the event as one of the best in its 43-year history.

Queensland Transport Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk officially opened the show, which has moved from its former home at the RNA Showgrounds.
