I98FMs Camp Quality Convoy raises over $1.5 million

Charity convoy celebrates 10th year anniversary with an astonishing amount of money raised

The final tally for i98FM’s Camp Quality Convoy is $1,539,907. Nearly 800 trucks and over 1200 motorbikes participated in the event, which involved a 70km trip from Appin, through the streets of Illawara and ending at the Croome Road Sporting Complex in Albion Park Rail.

The event was held on November 16, and was open to all truckies and motorbike enthusiasts. For most people the registration fee was $30, however an auction was held on the Thursday preceding the event in order to determine who had the honour of taking the lead position in the convoy. The winning bid was McMahon’s Tranport owner Derek McMahon, who donated a fantastic $192,000.

Other big contributors include Coastal Windows, who donated $160,000, MJ Rowles with an $85,000 donation, and Illawarra Truck Repairs and Spares who gave $83,000.

All funds go directly to Camp Quality Illawarra, a charity that specialises in bringing happiness to the lives of kids with cancer.

This year marks the 10th occurrence in a row for the convoy, and the total amount raised for the life of the event is almost $6 million.
