Camp Quality Convoy raises $1.7m for charity

November fundraiser beats last year’s tally of $1.5 million.

The Camp Quality Convoy continues to grow in strength, with this year’s event raising more than $1.7 million for charity.

The figure eclipsed 2015’s tally of $1.5 million and means more than $7.7 million has been raised since the event began in 2005.

All funds raised go directly to Camp Quality Illawarra to fund dedicated support programs for kids with cancer.

The 11th running of the Camp Quality Convoy involved 764 trucks and 960 motorbikes travelling through the Illawarra in New South Wales.

A crowd of more than 7,000 people attended the event, which included entertainment from musical group Justice Crew and motorcross riders.

Individuals and businesses bid to be the lead truck or motorbike in the convoy.

A $220,000 bid helped Rob Starcic from Coastal Windows and Doors take the position of lead truck, while Caltex and the Mount Kembla Pub had the winning bid of $92,300 to lead the motorbikes.
