Casino on track for spectacular show

More than 150 trucks are expected to take part in the 2018 Casino Truck Show, held on August 4

Organisers of the 2018 North Coast Petroleum Casino Truck Show on Saturday, August 4 are expecting some of Australia’s most spectacular working, vintage and restored trucks to roll up for the event.

The action starts at 9am with markets, face painting and jumping castles. Shortly afterwards, more than 150 vehicles will make their way through Johnston St and Center St for the Westlawn Truck Parade at 10am.

It promises to be the northern New South Wales town’s biggest truck show to date, with new event highlights adding to what is expected to be a great day for trucking families and the general public as they celebrate the industry that carries this great nation.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response to the event over the past years,” says Stuart George, president of the Casino Truck Show.

“Visitors and families travel from across the state and with free entry to the event for spectators, it makes Casino the place to be on the first weekend of August.

“Having over $12,000 worth of cash and prizes up for grabs this year will attract both local and interstate trucking companies and will add new dimensions to the show.

“The free event attracts many visitors to town and seeing the main streets closed and alive with wall to wall trucks,” Stuart says.

In among the truck show will be markets, industry displays, food stalls, rides and live music by the Occarock band.

In addition, and for the first time ever, there will be multiple exciting stunt performances from the Showtime FMX team flying high in Casino’s streets. Showtime FMX is said to be Australia’s original, longest running and most successful freestyle moto x team.

There will also be live music from popular band Occarock, who will perform from 11.30am to 3.30pm on stage near the Mafeking lamp roundabout.

The truck show presentations will take place at 2pm.
