It was more than five years when a small but dedicated group of truck enthusiasts, eager to raise money for various charities, launched the Lowood Truck Show.

August 24 will mark the sixth running of the Iveco Trucks Brisbane-sponsored event, with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Queensland the beneficiary of this year’s fund-raising activities.

Held at the Lowood Showgrounds, the venue is around an hour west of Brisbane along the Warrego Highway.

The totally not-for-profit fund raising event has grown each year from a modest gathering of 40 trucks to the 2018 tally of more than 280 units arriving on the day. The show raised $15,000, which was donated to Drought Angels.

In addition, organisers spend much of the year gathering donations from the transport industry to auction during this event.

There is no entry fee and we there are over 50 trophies on offer for attendees in all categories.

Entertainment includes live music, and rock ’n roll dancing, plus a special performance from the Bandag Bullet on a special laid-out cement burnout pad.

Also included are truck manufacturer displays, and food stalls and bar facilities are available.

Auction for lead truck is open to offers to organisers and goes to a good cause.

Trucks are due to arrive in Lowood before 11am before a convoy through town and onto the showgrounds for judging.
