Victorian Truck Drivers Memorial set for Queen’s bday weekend

Memorial set for June 11 in Alexandra, Victoria.

The Victorian Truck Drivers’ Memorial committee is pleased to announce that after 2 years of cancelled services due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 memorial service will take place on Saturday 11th June. The service will be held at the Rotary Park, 36 Grant Street, Alexandra, at 2pm and will include inductees onto the memorial wall from the postponed 2020 and 2021 service. This year the service will honour over 25 men and women who have made significant contributions to the Victorian transport industry.

“After a couple of difficult years, we are very pleased to be able to continue to bring friends and families of truck drivers who have lost their lives together, an honour them at our Annual Memorial Service,” says Victorian Truck Drivers’ Memorial Inc. president, Craig Lloyd.

The Victorian Truck Drivers’ Memorial (VTDM) in Alexandra, Victoria, was erected as place of reflection and solemn remembrance for families and friends of Victorians who have lost their lives while at work on the road, or after a significant link to the transport industry. The Memorial is an inherently apolitical, secular, not-for-profit institution serving all who come to remember; an everlasting tribute to the truck drivers after which it’s named.
