Shell Rimula back for Alice Springs reunion

More than 50 new inductees will be added to the National Road Transport Wall of Fame in Alice Springs on August 27

Viva Energy has announced the return of the Shell Rimula National Road Transport Wall of Fame in 2022. The event will again recognise and champion the achievements of the road transport community across Australia.

Held from August 26 to August 28 at the Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs, the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame inductions will celebrate 57 of Australia’s trucking heroes for their lifelong commitment to the road transport community.

Nick Lubransky, transport marketing manager Viva Energy Australia, says the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on how important the road transport community is for our country.

“Viva Energy is proud to be able to continue supporting the individuals in this community through our partnership with the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame,” he says.

Shell Rimula will again join with the Road Transport Hall of Fame to host the weekend of celebrations, bringing together Australia’s transport community and recognising influential members of the industry. The event will also see the return of in-person festivities, with last year’s inductees also getting the chance to be involved in the induction ceremony.

The transport industry will be back in droves for the 2022 Alice Springs Road Transport Reunion

“We are excited to be back celebrating such an important community and recognising those individuals that have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the transport industry,” Lubransky continues.

“For 21 years now Shell Rimula and the Road Transport Hall of Fame has supported this special occasion and we are delighted to be back this year to welcome the 2022 inductees in person.”

However, the major highlight of the weekend takes place on Saturday, August 27 where the 57 new inductees will be welcomed into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame. The ceremony commences at 3pm followed by celebratory drinks at Stuart’s Kitchen at the Legends Gala Dinner at the Kenworth Pavilion.

On Sunday, August 28, visitors will be able to take advantage of the National Transport Museum’s open day.
