First locally built FH16 780 XXL rolls out of Wacol

SRH Milk Haulage has received the historic vehicle that it’ll put to work to pull an A-Double tanker combination in NSW

Volvo Trucks Australia has delivered its first locally built FH16 780 XXL model to SRH Milk Haulage.

The 120-tonne rated prime mover has come off Volvo’s Wacol production line in Queensland, with Crawler Gear equipped alongside the new generation I-Shift transmission and the D17 780 engine.

SRH Milk Haulage will use the truck to pull an A-Double tanker combination between sites on the NSW Central and Northern Coasts.

The SRH team, consisting of Scott, Regina and Mitchell Harvey, went to Wacol to mark the occasion and receive the vehicle.

“Our company has had a long history with Volvo Trucks,” Scott says.

“Knowing these trucks have been engineered and built locally for Australian conditions really makes a difference to us.

“We operate across three states 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so uptime and productivity are vital for us, milk isn’t something you can leave sitting on the side of the road!

“And of course we’re really excited to see this truck join our fleet, and I’m pretty sure our drivers will be as well.”
