Followmont adds six new prime movers to growing Kenworth fleet

The latest additions of six K220 prime movers bring the operator’s fleet of active trucks to 53 in operation

Just weeks after announcing the arrival of new Sitrak prime movers to its fleet, Australian trucking operator Followmont Transport has strengthened its fleet with the addition of six new prime movers.

The six new Kenworth K220 prime movers have bolstered Followmont’s network through its long-standing partner Brown and Hurley.

The additions bring Followmont’s K220 fleet to 13 units and increases the total number of Kenworths it runs in active operation to 53.

The investment reinforces the company’s commitment to reliable, efficient and driver-focused transport solutions that keep freight moving across Queensland and New South Wales.

Followmont managing director Mark Tobin says the partnership between Followmont and Brown and Hurley has been built on shared values and trust developed over many years.

“As our business grows, we continue to invest in quality equipment from brands we know and trust,” he says.

“Kenworth has always delivered exceptional reliability, driver comfort and performance for our operations.

“The support we receive from Brown and Hurley and PACCAR gives us great confidence in their product and service, and these new K220s will play an important role in supporting our network and our people.

“They’ll deliver flexibility for both produce and general freight runs, while upholding the high standards our drivers expect day-in and day-out.”

“We look forward to continuing this strong relationship for many years to come.”

The new units will be based in Brisbane and operate on linehaul runs to Townsville, supporting a new customer and further enhancing service reach across the state.

Followmont CEO Ross Longmire says the trucks are perfectly suited to Followmont’s operational profile, which demands toughness, comfort and endurance.

“Kenworth trucks have proven themselves time and again across our business,” he says.

“They’re well-suited to the work we do and provide our drivers with the tools they need to perform safely and efficiently while continuing to deliver for our customers.”

Known for their strength and versatility, the Kenworth K220s offer a balance of power, safety and comfort ideal for long-haul operations.

Longmire says the model’s advanced safety features, ergonomic cabin design and high-performing Cummins X15 engine make it a dependable choice for the demands of regional and interstate freight.
