The Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) has recognised Mark Tobin of Followmont Transport for his contribution to the state’s transport industry with the Industry Excellence Individual Award at its Road Freight Industry Awards night.
Tobin, who is the CEO and managing director of Followmont, was chosen for the award due to his “instrumental leadership in driving innovation, sustainability, and growth within the road freight industry”, the QTA said in a statement.
“He has a deep-rooted passion for transport and servicing regional communities.
“Combined with his dedication to the wellbeing of employees as well as his commitment to supporting many not-for-profits, he has and continues to make a lasting impact.”
Seven awards were handed out in total, recognising the “highest achievement in the Queensland trucking industry”.
Other award winners included:
- Industry Excellence Company Award: Marschall Group, Goondiwindi
- Trucking Industry Woman of the Year Award: Cheryl Conner, Exodas
- Young Achiever of the Year Award: Gabriel Aguilar, South East Queensland Hauliers and Luke Cannon, Frasers Livestock Transport
- Health and Wellbeing Award: Wickham Freight Lines
- Professional Driver of the Year Award: Brad Train, VE Group AU
- Training and Skilling Excellence Award: Strategix Training Group – Road Ready Program
QTA president Michael Mahon congratulated all the award winners from the night.
“The excellence awarded at tonight’s QTA Road Freight Industry Awards is a testament to the passion and commitment that people and businesses have for the industry,” he says.
“As an Association, we are proud to recognise this great industry that drives the Queensland economy.”
