Foton Mobility takes on new dealer group

Foton Mobility

Foton Mobility is set to distribute its electric trucks at three new locations through its recently announced partnership with Eagers Automotive Group.

The new sales and service locations will be Foton EV Brisbane, Foton EV Perth and Foton EV Sydney. The company says each site will offer customer support for Foton electric trucks and businesses transitioning to electric.

Eagers Automotive says they are proud to represent and sell the Foton T5 EV thanks to its large customer base.

“Eagers Automotive is incredibly proud to join the growing Foton EV dealership network,” says Paul Warburton, executive general manager at Eagers Automotive Limited.

“We look forward to supporting Foton in the Australian market as they look to follow in the footsteps of their success around the world.”

The Foton T5 EV will be available at all three locations, with the model available rated to a GVM of 4500kg for car licence operation, or 6000kg for light rigid licenced drivers. It also includes a 3500kg braked towing capacity.

Foton says the T5 has an 180km range, and includes a number of safety features such as its low-speed pedestrian warning system, electronic braking, stability support, dual SRS airbags and a reversing radar and buzzer.

“It’s with great pride that we welcome the Eagers Automotive team to the Foton family,” says Foton general manager of light duty vehicles Bill Gillespie.

“Around the world, Foton’s new energy products continue to lead the sales race, with our entry to the Australian market last year seeing the products widely embraced by a cross-section of leading fleets nationwide.

“From leaders in last mile home deliveries to council fleets, removalists and beyond, the T5 EV continues to gain traction in the marketplace.

“With Eagers Automotive representing us in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, we are now able to better service our customer base, who can access the vehicles through familiar staff at trusted dealerships.”
