Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia has released the full program for the upcoming TruckShowX, set to be hosted at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria from May 13-14.
It will include a line-up of speakers made up of government figures and policy makers, regulators, renewable fuel and electric infrastructure experts, low and zero-emissions vehicle leaders and equipment suppliers.
Government officials speaking at the event will include Ian Porter from the federal department of infrastructure and transport and Melissa O’Brien from Freight Victoria.
“Reducing emissions in the transport sector requires government and industry to work together to secure long-lasting benefits, while managing and minimising the impacts of the transition,” Porter says.
“The government is developing a Transport and Infrastructure Net Zero Roadmap to support this, and this includes looking at the options to reduce carbon emissions in heavy vehicles and support our local industry.”
“Victoria has an ambitious target of reaching zero emissions by 2045 and we know to achieve that goal government needs to work hand-in-hand with industry,” O’Brien adds.
“Late last year the Victorian government brought the freight sector together for a summit to understand the innovations, challenges and opportunities for decarbonisation and how we can support that shift.
“TruckShowX provides us with another opportunity to continue that conversation with industry, test our developing plans for decarbonisation, and collectively consider how we can overcome challenges and create significant change in the freight sector.”
Several organisations including the NTRO, Climateworks, Swinburne University of Technology and Mov3ment will also be present. Transport leaders including NewVolt, Siemens, Zenobe and Kempower will also make presentations.
A number of case studies will be presented from Team Global Express, JET Charge, Hyzon Motors and Ikea on electric vehicle, hydrogen fuel cell technology and more.
Daimler Truck, Ark Energy and SEA Electric will also speak on electric solutions and hydrogen refuelling.
For equipment manufacturers, Foton, Revora, SAF-Holland, Dana, Move EV and Arends Trailers will speak on electric refrigerated trucks and the trailers of the future.
