Linfox will use two Fuso eCanters in Melbourne’s southeast
Linfox is introducing two all-electric trucks to the Bunnings fleet for the first time as part of its trialling of electric vehicles with its customers.
Linfox is providing Bunnings with two Fuso eCanters that will deliver home and lifestyle products to local stores in Melbourne’s southwest.
These trucks will be powered by 100 per cent renewable electricity, making it a Bunnings first.
Anticipated usage shows at least 60 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions can be avoided annually using Fuso eCanter trucks compared to a Euro 6 diesel powered truck of the same size.

“As leading Australian retailers continue to reduce reliance on traditional energy sources, Linfox is proud to support our customers’ sustainability targets,” Linfox executive chairman Peter Fox says.
“Supply chain partners have an important role to play in the transition to renewable energy and the action we take now will determine our future and the future of generations to come.”
The two electric vehicles form part of Bunnings’ sustainability strategy, which includes pledging to reach net zero emissions by 2030, as the trial will assist Bunnings to assess methods of transitioning to lower emissions transport within its supply chain in the future.
The Fuso eCanter, which is built by Daimler, will recharge using a rapid charger at Bunnings’ Laverton distribution centre.

“The eCanter is full of active safety features, including Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), which allows fleets to look after the planet and their workers at the same time.”
Linfox will operate six electric vehicles across Victoria and New South Wales by the end of March 2022.
