Transport for New South Wales has revealed a bridge south-west of Eugowra will have a temporarily reduced heavy vehicle load limit for the next six months.
Paytens Bridge, situated 11km south-west of Eugowra, will have the limit placed on it for up to six months while a bridge strengthening structure is installed.

The limit has been reduced from 42.5 tonnes to 23 tonnes, with vehicles over that weight limit travelling between Eugowra and Lachlan Valley Way not able to use Paytens Bridge Road.

Instead, they’ll have to detour via Gooloogong’s Casuarina Drive, adding about 40kms and 30 minutes to journeys.
The upgrade comes after a routine inspection revealed damage to one of the bridge’s timber trusses that requires a temporary load limit reduction.
