McPhee Distrubution opens new facility

McPhee Distribution Services has just opened another new warehouse and distribution centre

McPhee Distribution Services has just opened another new warehouse and distribution centre.

The new Cambellfield property was officially opened on February 27 by John and his son Jay McPhee, who now runs the family owned business.

Branch Manager Michael Curran says the business is growing strongly, with two more facilities due to open in Sydney and Brisbane in the coming months.

“The business has doubled in size over the last three years,” Curran says.

“We are growing in all states at the moment and from an asset point of view they [McPhee’s] own most of the properties they are in”.

While McPhee Distribution Services had its origins back in 1923 as McPhee Transport, it was in 1984 that Warehousing & Distribution Services was formed to add further services and value to McPhee Transport.

In 2001 a JV was undertaken to reform the business as SembCorp Logistics (Australia).

In March 2006, Toll (Asia) acquired the business and the Australian directors bought the Australian section of the business and re-branded it McPhee Distribution Services

“There are opportunities in warehousing and distribution where you can be quite unique, stand out and add value to our customers’ businesses. This is what makes McPhee stand out in what is a competitive industry,” Curran says.

McPhee’s continual investment into its business and people is testament to the long-term view the company is taking.”
