Freight and Logistics Council holds first meeting

The newly formed WA Freight and Logistics Council holds first meeting to improve the industry productivity and efficiency

The newly formed Freight and Logistics Council of Western Australia has held its first meeting to discuss ways to improve the sector’s productivity and efficiency.

The council looked at the protection of freight corridors, the State’s input into national transport planning, port planning and the private sector involvement in Western Australian ports.

Western Australia Minster for Transport Simon O’Brien O’Brien says the council is designed to help government and industry work together to drive improvements in the sector.

“In bringing together senior freight and logistics decision makers from the private and public sectors, we have an opportunity to align state government objectives with industry practice,” he says.

“A fully integrated logistics approach to moving freight drives efficiency and productivity”.
