Simpson retains transport, Main Roads in Qld

Fiona Simpson remains transport and Main Roads shadow on new-look opposition front bench in Queensland

Fiona Simpson, a candidate for the leadership of the merged Liberal-National opposition in Queensland, will retain oversight for transport and Main Roads on a new-look opposition front bench.

Simpson will retain responsibility for both portfolios, shadowing Labor's Craig Wallace as Main Roads Minister and Rachel Nolan as Transport Minister.

Another leadership contender, Tim Nicholls, will remain as Shadow Treasurer under new party leader John-Paul Langbroek.

Langbroek says the re-shuffle provides a blend of new faces and solid experience.

"This new shadow ministerial line-up aligns key portfolios to people's talents and ensures we have the best people in place to keep the Labor Government accountable," he says

Former leader Lawrence Springborg was elected Deputy Leader, Shadow Attorney-General and Shadow Minister for Trade.
