ATA will return to Gold Coast for 2010 convention

ATA to return to the Gold Coast for annual convention next year, following the success of the venue in April

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) will return to the Gold Coast for its convention next year, following the success of the venue in April.

The announcement may disappoint operators in Western Australia with the 2010 event expected to be held in Perth, but ATA Chairman Trevor Martyn says given the economic climate the Gold Coast was simply the better option.

"We had planned to take the convention to Perth next year, but following concerns from exhibitors and the Transport Forum of Western Australia about the effects of the global financial crisis, and the overwhelmingly positive response from delegates to the Gold Coast venue, we decided to return to Queensland," Martyn says.

Next year's event will take place from April 7 to 10 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
