Nominations open for ‘historic’ freight awards

Nominations open for the annual Australian Freight Industry Awards, which is celebrating its 20th year

Nominations have opened for the annual Australian Freight Industry Awards, which is celebrating its 20th year.

Trucking companies and individuals have until September 14 to lodge nominations for awards that recognise industry excellence across six categories. The awards will be held on October 3.

Victorian Transport Association (VTA) Chief Executive Phil Lovel says there will be a “spectacular event” to mark the 20th anniversary of the ceremony.

“These unique awards are designed to reward excellence and to raise the standards and public perception of the Australian Freight and Logistics Industry,” Lovel says.

“For 20 years companies and individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make their work more innovative, efficient and safe have been publicly recognised and honoured at the Australian Freight Industry Awards.”

The awards range from best environmental practices, personality of the year, best freight or technology innovation and best safety practices.

There is also a general Australian Freight and Logistics Award and an award to recognise companies that offer career pathways.

“For twenty years these Awards have recognised the people and companies who have contributed to shaping the industry into what it is today and into the future. Saturday 3rd October will be a historic evening,” Lovel says.

Nomination forms and invitations are available from the VTA.
