Olympic Highway Interchange opens to public

Upgrade of Hume Highway a step closer to completion after opening of Olympic Highway Interchange north of Albury

The redevelopment of the Hume Highway is a step closer to completion after the announcement from the federal and New South Wales governments that the Olympic Highway Interchange has opened north of Albury.

The newly completed intersection consists of five kilometres of new road which will allow southbound traffic to travel from south of the Olympic Highway interchange to Table Top.

"This project will improve safety at this major intersection by removing the need for cars and trucks to turn across high speed, oncoming Hume Highway traffic," Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Anthony Albanese says.

"This new road duplicates the existing highway and connects with the existing road between Table Top and Albury."

The announcement of this latest development will soon be followed by the opening of the $179 million Coolac Bypass which NSW Roads Minister Michael Daley says will be completed in the near future.
