Head-on smash kills two truck drivers

Two truck drivers killed after their semi-trailers collide head-on in South Australia

South Australia’s road toll continues to rise after two truck drivers were killed when their semi-trailers collided head-on.

The incident occurred on the Dukes Highway just before midnight yesterday between Keith and Bordertown.

Police say a 50-year-old man from Willaston in South Australia and a 37-year-old man from Williamstown in Victoria died.

The vehicles have not yet been removed from the road and police expect the highway to be closed until at least midday.

Diversions have been put in place for west-bound and east-bound traffic, as investigations continue into what caused the accident.

The number of people killed on South Australian roads is now 91, 24 more deaths than this time last year.
