Pacific Highway shut down after two cars collide with three semi-trailers, leading to long delays for truck drivers

The Pacific Highway has been shut down in both directions in New South Wales and truck drivers will suffer long delays after two cars collided with three semi-trailers.
The incident happened about 11pm last night near Macksville on the State’s mid-north coast and killed one man after his car was ripped in half and wedged under a truck.
No-one else was injured but one of the truck drivers was taken to hospital suffering shock.
There are no local diversions for heavy vehicles, forcing truck drivers to remain queued back for several kilometres in both directions.
Police are still conducting investigations and have urged all truck drivers in the area to use the New England Highway if possible.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Port Macquarie Crash Investigation Unit via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared by police for the information of the NSW Coroner.
