Fonterra Australia and Transport Driver Training Victoria (TDTV) are among the award winners from the 20th Australian Freight Industry Awards held in Melbourne last week.

While TDTV took out the industry promotion and careers award, Fonterra was named as the company with the best practice safety in Australia.

Transport Certification Australia and Strang LPP took out awards for innovation in technology and environmental care respectively, while the Glen Cameron Group took home the gong in the overall freight and logistics category.

The evening was hosted by the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) and Chief Executive Phillip Lovel says the evening was a great opportunity to showcase the men and women of the industry.

"For 20 years companies and individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make their work more innovative, efficient and safe have been publicly recognised and honoured at the Australian Freight Industry Awards," he says.

"The awards are a testament to the quality of companies operating in the Freight and Logistics industry and recognise the hard work of all our people."
