A new fuel card from Daimler Trucks offers discounts on diesel along with travel and vehicle expenses.

Retail Decisions, one of the country's leading payment card issuers, has joined forces with Daimler to launch the Motorpass Diesel Card, providing access to fuel sites across the country as well as breakdown services at Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

The card will provide owner-drivers and sub-contractor drivers of Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Sterling trucks national access to the Motorpass Golden Network – key hi-flow diesel sites across Australia – promising significant fleet level discounts on diesel fuel.

Card holders can also access the standard Motorpass network which incorporates over 5,800 fuel sites and more than 4,500 non-fuel sites across Australia.

Daimler says the product is designed to save time and money by providing a single card solution to vehicle-related expenses including fuel, servicing and repairs, parts and accessories, as well as travel related expenses such as accommodation.

Available through the Daimler Trucks dealer network, drivers are being offered $250 worth of free diesel as an introductory offer.

Card holders also receive weekly diesel discounts at Motorpass Diesel Golden Network fuel sites, free access to Motorpass Truck and Van Roadside Response (a commercial vehicle-specific roadside assistance program) and access to Safeguard, an authorised maintenance and repair program through the Daimler Trucks network.

As part of the joint program, cardholders will be able to use the cards at Mercedes-Benz dealerships to pay for servicing and repairs, tyres, etc.

Vince King, the General Manager of Commercial Vehicles, Service and Parts for Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific, says the program will provide individual dealers the opportunity to link customers to further incentives and loyalty programs, while also eliminating potential credit risks.

"By partnering with Retail Decisions to create the Daimler Trucks Motorpass Diesel Card, we now have a unique solution that is efficient and effective for fleet operators and owner drivers within the transport industry," he says.

"At Daimler, we understand the importance of keeping the customer on the road. With a wide range of parts and services available nationwide, combined with the Diesel Card, we provide customers a total solution."

Retail Decisions CEO Carl Clump says the partnership creates a single expense management tool, minimising vehicle-related time and costs.
