Cummins South Pacific and Drake Trailers Australia last week held an information day for three classes of Year 11 engineering students at their Queensland bases.

The initiative was part of the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland’s (CVIAQ) drive to get more young people involved in the commercial vehicle manufacturing industry.

The students from Marsden State High School in Logan were given an insight into the engine manufacturing and trailer production industries at Cummins and Drake.

This latest initiative continues tours in other school districts to help students make informed choices about apprenticeships, traineeships and work experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
