Disobedient drivers told to watch out

Motorists disobeying basic road rules in NSW will be targeted tomorrow as part of Operation Obedience

February 17, 2010

Motorists who disobey basic road rules will become the major target of NSW Police tomorrow in a scheme aimed at improving road safety.

Operation Obedience is conducted each month where police strategically target the top five black spot intersections in local areas.

Almost 400 drivers and 15 pedestrians were stopped by police for disobeying red and orange traffic lights and other road signs last month.

Areas to be targeted include intersections on the M4 and M5 motorways, the Hume and Cumberland highways and local routes such as Parramatta Road, King Georges Road and Canterbury Road.
