Work begins on the Peninsula Link Project in Victoria, with Premier John Brumby saying it will cut congestion

February 18, 2010

Work has started on the Peninsula Link Project in Victoria to provide 27km of highway to motorists travelling around Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.

Victorian Premier John Brumby says the $759 million project will benefit local communities and businesses in the area.

“Peninsula Link will significantly reduce congestion away from existing local roads, making it easier for businesses to attract people and move goods around the road network, while providing a significant tourism boost to the Peninsula,” Brumby says.

The project is being constructed by the private consortium of Southern Way and AbiGroup and is due to be completed by early 2013.
