Diesel prices fall one cent, but recent disruptions to airlines in Europe may lead to sharper declines

Diesel prices dipped by an average of one cent per litre across the country despite reports international oil prices were plummeting.
The prices are level with post Easter-break prices due mostly to the price lag in Asia—usually a week or more behind international markets.
Terminal gate prices for the end of last week were predictable, with Melbourne the cheapest at 120.8 cents a litre by Friday.
Sydney ended the week slightly higher at 121.4 cents per litre.
The cost of diesel in Brisbane dipped from 121.3 to 121.2 cents per litre over the course of the week, with Adelaide recording 121.4 cents per litre.
Perth ended the week at 122.5 cents per litre, down from 122.6 cents per litre.
International prices show crude oil prices falling to 59 cents per litre by Friday, with the price plummeting to a three-week low this morning as volcanic ash disruptions across Europe slash demand for jet fuel.
This dip in price should be reflected in Australian terminal gate prices in the following weeks.
