Community gets say on transport challenges

NSW Government will use community meetings to develop blueprint to address transport challenges in the Illawarra

June 24, 2010

The NSW Government will use community meetings to develop a blueprint to address transport challenges facing the Illawarra region.

Government representatives, agencies and transport providers will hold a workshop in Wollongong today.

The outcome of the meeting will form the Government’s development of a transport plan covering road and rail freight and passenger services.

“Today’s discussions involve talking to key stakeholders to develop a blueprint – which will be then released for public consultation later this year,” Keira MP David Campbell says.

“We want everyone in the Illawarra to have their say on transport in our region.”
