Truck thieves strike in Queensland

Trucks and heavy equipment stolen from excavation business in North Queensland over the weekend

Police in North Queensland are hunting for thieves who broke into an excavation business and stole two trucks and heavy equipment.

A 1992 Mitsubishi truck with the registration 851IIH and a 1988 FM series Mitsubishi truck with the registration 966MHM were taken from the business at Garbutt in Townsville between 11:30am on June 27 and 3:30am today.

Both trucks are white and were also used to steal a bobcat and a rubber track loader.

The bobcat – registration number 4SDK8 – was loaded onto the 1992 model truck and driven away.

The RC50 model rubber track loader was loaded onto the 1988 truck.

Police have urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
